ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Our portfolio company Abbey Party Rents is adding an Account Executive to their talented Sales Team!

JOB PURPOSE 

The Account Executive is responsible for the performance of all outside sales activities associated with selling of a diverse and complex product offering. The Account Executive is a key driver of revenue growth for the company and is on the front lines for selling our product and brand to prospects and existing customers. The position will develop and execute plans and strategies to service existing customers while meeting or exceeding profitability goals with the responsibility of acquiring new business and growing the current customer base. Viewed as the primary “face” for the customer and requires strong relationship management. Ability to work on a sales team in a fast-paced, complex environment is critical for success in this role. Account Executives report to Director of Sales, Kathy Newby.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for the assigned market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.

  • Gather and utilize business intelligence to support sales calls, presentations and drive new business.

  • Stays abreast of competition’s offerings, pricing, advertising and promotions; submits ideas for new products, services, fees, merchandising strategies, promotions, etc.

  • Develop and create a new client pipeline by selling our brand and entire line of products.

  • Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective clients to understand the depth of the partnership and their rental needs for future events.

  • Manages multiple sales prospects and opportunities at a time.

  • Consults with clients to determine event details; recommends appropriate rental products, product setup and event layout based on the client’s needs; conducts site inspection and/or measures and records event site for tenting and space planning; where appropriate prepares presentations and proposals for client meetings; attends client logistic and event planning meetings, and post-production client debriefings.

  • Provides timely and accurate customer quotes and orders; work with management for the approval of pricing changes while maintaining maximum profit margins.

  • Reviews expectations and/or timelines of customer events with operational and event staff in internal production meetings; if required attends customer events to supervise installation and/or directs event staff during installation.

  • Utilize CRM/contact management resources to manage customer sales strategies and activities to ensure account penetration.

  • When appropriate, attend customer events and lead the coordination of setup and take-down including efficiently utilizing labor and ensuring job site safety.

  • Respond to customer service problems and resolve complaints.

  • Conduct “lessons learned” analysis of sold events to ensure future success and customer satisfaction.

  • Develops and maintains an awareness of the market behavior and competitive trends and responds accordingly.

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the company’s available services, product line and pricing structure.

  • Submit accurate Sales Commission Reports in accordance with stated timelines.

  • Attend industry related functions as assigned by the Director of Sales.

  • Attend department, location and safety meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Good communication skills and problem-solving experience.

  • Deadline and detailed oriented.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.

  • Basic understanding of math skills.

  • Basic understanding of business ethics.

  • Ability to understand client needs and handle the negotiation process.

  • Computer skills, especially MS Office and CRM software.

  • Experience in the event or catering industry is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively; capable of listening

intently; visual acuity to process reports. 

  • Sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures while working outside.

  • May work days, evenings, or weekends.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.

  • Be able to lift 75lbs.
